Xanterra Travel Collection appoints Tim Walker as Chief Legal Officer

Xanterra Travel Collection has appointed Tim Walker as Chief Legal Officer, overseeing legal, compliance, risk management and EHS functions across its global hospitality and travel portfolio.

 

 

Xanterra Travel Collection has appointed Tim Walker as Chief Legal Officer, with immediate effect. Walker will oversee the company’s Legal and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) divisions and join its Executive Leadership Team.

In his new role, Walker will be responsible for legal, compliance, risk management and corporate governance across Xanterra’s international portfolio, which includes operations in national parks, luxury resorts, small-ship cruises, rail travel and guided tours. Among the company’s well-known brands are Grand Canyon National Park Lodges, The Oasis at Death Valley and Windstar Cruises.

Walker joins Xanterra following ten years at Vail Resorts, where he most recently served as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. His responsibilities included leading legal support for resort and hospitality operations across four countries, covering investigations, litigation, guest claims, insurance, EHS guidance, employment and labour law, crisis management and mergers and acquisitions.

Before his tenure at Vail Resorts, Walker held legal roles at Tucker Ellis LLP in Denver, and at Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP in Chicago, where he managed commercial litigation and intellectual property cases for domestic and international clients. He began his legal career at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, P.C. in Denver and served as a judicial clerk in Colorado’s First Judicial District.

Walker holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University.
