World Ski Awards 2025 celebrates global leaders in ski tourism excellence
The World Ski Awards 2025 has revealed this year’s winners, celebrating excellence across ski resorts, hotels, chalets and tour operators, with Val Thorens named ‘World’s Best Ski Resort’ for another year.
The World Ski Awards 2025, the only global initiative dedicated to recognizing and rewarding excellence in ski tourism, has announced the winners of its 13th annual edition, spotlighting the leading names shaping the future of the international ski travel industry.
Europe’s highest resort, Val Thorens, was crowned “World’s Best Ski Resort”, earning global acclaim for its world-class lift infrastructure, slope facilities and premium slopeside accommodation. The award further cements Val Thorens’ reputation as a benchmark for ski destinations worldwide.
In North America, Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Utah took home the title of “World’s Best Ski Hotel”, while Switzerland’s Chalet Zermatt Peak was once again named “World’s Best Ski Chalet”. The boutique category award went to Hôtel Le Pashmina in Les Trois Vallées, which claimed “World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel” for its luxury amenities and ski-in/ski-out access.
Among the newcomers, Japan’s Nikko Style Niseko HANAZONO, part of the Okura Nikko Hotel Group, was named “World’s Best New Ski Hotel”, surpassing strong competitors from Val-d’Isère and Tyrol. Meanwhile, Cabane Tortin, an off-grid alpine retreat above Verbier, earned the title of “World’s Best New Ski Chalet”.
Record global participation
The 2025 awards followed a year-long voting process involving both ski industry professionals and global consumers. Winners in each category were determined by the highest number of votes received.

This year’s winners reflect the dynamic nature of our industry, showcasing an ideal blend of luxury, innovation and sustainability. We have received a record number of votes from ski tourism consumers all around the world – most encouraging on the eve of the upcoming season.”
Global recognition across categories
Switzerland’s LAAX was named “World’s Best Freestyle Resort”, praised for its outstanding freeride terrain and sustainable mountain design, while Ski Dubai was recognized as “World’s Best Indoor Ski Resort”.
In the travel trade categories, Leo Trippi won “World’s Best Ski Travel Agent”, Sunweb secured “World’s Best Ski Tour Operator”, and SkyExpress was named “World’s Best Ski Transfer Operator”.
Sustainability and design were also honored, with LAAX’s rocksresort winning “World’s Best Green Ski Hotel” for its architecture blending harmoniously with the alpine environment. Canada’s Northern Escape Heli-Skiing claimed “World’s Best Heli-Ski Operator”, while Compagnie des Alpes was recognized as “World’s Best Ski Resort Group”, acknowledging its influential role across Europe. Austria’s Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel earned the title of “World’s Best Ski Resort Company”.
