SALEM, ORE. – The Willamette Valley Visitors Association (WVVA) appoint Claire Harriman as Destination Marketing Manager. A highly experienced marketing and communications leader with more than 20 years of experience, Harriman brings a deep love of Oregon and a passion for strategic storytelling to her new role leading WVVA’s marketing and public relations programs.
Harriman most recently served as Business Development Director for Roast Magazine, where she led strategic marketing and sales initiatives across trade publications in the specialty coffee industry. Prior to that, she held marketing and communications roles at OnPoint Community Credit Union, where she managed large-scale campaigns and executive communications. Her cross-sector experience in media, financial services, and nonprofits gives her a broad perspective and collaborative leadership style.
“Claire is a talented strategist who knows how to turn storytelling into connections that inspire action,” said Tori Middelstadt, Executive Director of WVVA. “Her enthusiasm for Oregon and her proven track record in driving results make her a powerful addition to the team as we continue building a sustainable, inclusive, and compelling visitor experience in the Willamette Valley.”
In her role as Destination Marketing Manager, Harriman will oversee WVVA’s regional marketing strategy, working with partners, contractors, and local stakeholders to develop year-round campaigns that support tourism growth and community vitality. She will also serve as lead for the regional public relations team and guide the organization’s social media efforts.
“As someone who was born and raised in Portland, I can’t wait to share the stories of the Willamette Valley, from its people and landscapes to its incredible food and wine,” said Harriman. “Supporting the businesses and communities that benefit from tourism perfectly combines my professional background with my personal love for this region.”
A proud Oregon State University alumna, Harriman enjoys exploring Oregon’s great outdoors through hiking, biking, paddling, and skiing. She’s also an avid cook and gardener, and an enthusiastic supporter of Portland Timbers and Thorns soccer.
