Visa application volumes from the Philippines increased by about 8% year-on-year in 2025, reflecting a recovery in travelers’ confidence to visit global destinations. This data is provided by VFS Global, a leading provider of trusted technology services that enable secure mobility for governments and citizens. VFS Global manages visa services for 33 foreign governments in the Philippines.

In 2025, Filipino travelers favored destinations such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Greece, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK, listed alphabetically.
Atul Lall, Regional Head – North Asia, VFS Global, said, “This healthy rise in visa applications from the Philippines last year indicates that travellers’ confidence has been restored and people exploring their favourite global destinations again. We are confident that this positive travel momentum will sustain in 2026 as well. We urge applicants planning to travel overseas from the Philippines to apply for their visas in advance to avoid the last-minute rush.”
The demand for personalised services that improve convenience for visa applicants remained a key trend in 2025 visa application patterns. Visa At Your Doorstep (VAYD), a service that enables applicants to complete their entire visa application from home or any preferred location, saw a notable 62% increase over the previous year.
VFS Global offers doorstep visa services in the Philippines for 18 countries, such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Malta, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Türkiye, the UK, and the Netherlands. They also provide the flexible Mobile Visa Application Centre (MVAC) for applicants from these nations, enhancing convenience, security, and accessibility.
Similarly, the demand for Premium Lounge—an optional service offering end-to-end personalized assistance with visa applications from a lounge—is increasing as application volumes grow. Another service, Prime Time, which enables visa submissions outside regular hours and on weekends, has seen strong adoption since the pandemic.
Please note that all these premium services are optional and do not influence the speed of the applicant’s visa process or the likelihood of a favorable decision.
“We continue to see a healthy adoption of personalised services such as VAYD and Premium Lounge by discerning travellers post the pandemic due to health considerations. These services enhance the overall visa application experience for applicants by avoiding the need for them to stand in a queue. We foresee higher demand for such premium services prioritising safe travel this year as well,” added Lall.
VFS Global serves 33 sovereign governments in the Philippines, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Gambia, Germany, Greece (which covers Portugal), Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Lithuania, Malta, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway (covering Iceland), Oman (Attestation Services), Qatar, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Türkiye, UAE (Dubai visa and Attestation Services), UK, and Ukraine. It operates through a network of 61 visa application centres across 8 cities: Batangas City, Cebu, Davao, Makati, Paranaque, Pasay, Quezon City, and Taguig.
Peak Season Travel Guide
#ApplyinAdvance
It is advisable to begin your visa application process as soon as you book your flights and accommodations. Most countries allow visa applications up to 180 days (6 months) before your travel date. This year, due to increased demand and limited appointment availability, we strongly recommend applying for your visa early.
#DoNotFallForFraud
Visa applicants are advised to beware of fraudulent entities that charge customers fees for scheduling appointments or providing other services, using VFS Global’s name or operating independently. VFS Global does not charge any fee for booking appointments on www.vfsglobal.com, the official website for visa applications. However, some governments require pre-payment of the service fee at the time of booking the appointment.
This payment will be reimbursed or deducted during the application process. This step is only to ensure genuine travellers use the appointment booking system and to keep the system safe from misuse by fraudulent entities.
