He will oversee talent acquisition, organizational development, culture building and colleague engagement. Roberts’ previous experience includes roles as Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Transformation Officer at BMI Group, where he played a central role in driving organizational and cultural transformation. His work at AB InBev, SAB Miller and DTZ further strengthens his profile, making him a perfect fit to lead the people strategy at Vertical Aerospace.
In his role as Chief Data & Information Officer (CDIO), Juan Carlos Sacristan will lead Vertical Aerospace’s long-term data, digital and AI strategy. Sacristan’s remit includes connecting critical data across various stages of the company’s processes, such as design, procurement, testing, production and manufacturing. With over 20 years of experience in data-driven strategies and technology transformations, Sacristan has held senior leadership roles at some of the world’s most renowned organizations, including Adidas, Nike and GE Gas Engines. His experience in business growth through complex data and AI strategies will play a crucial role in enabling Vertical Aerospace to scale efficiently and meet the demands of the advanced air mobility market.
Richard Moore’s Expertise to Propel Vertical Aerospace’s Powertrain Engineering
Richard Moore has been appointed as Vice President, Powertrain, where he will oversee the critical engineering systems for Vertical Aerospace’s aircraft. This includes managing energy storage, battery management systems, electric propulsion units and charging infrastructure. Moore brings a wealth of expertise to this role, with over 35 years of experience in the industry. Previously, he served as the Director of Propulsion and Executive Director of Engineering at Lotus, where he was responsible for the engineering of all sports cars, including the Evija electric hypercar. Additionally, Moore played a key role at Jaguar Land Rover, leading the electrification engineering for propulsion systems across all Jaguar and Land Rover programs, including the Jaguar I-Pace, the company’s first all-electric vehicle.
With Moore’s leadership, Vertical Aerospace’s Powertrain engineering division is expected to strengthen further, ensuring integration across mission-critical systems. His extensive knowledge of electric propulsion and battery technologies is instrumental as the company advances toward certification and prepares to scale its operations.
Vertical Aerospace’s Vision for the Future of Electric Aviation
Vertical Aerospace is setting a new standard for electric aviation, with its flagship project, the Valo, a piloted, four-passenger Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
