This is the best work travel bag I own. It has a padded slot for my laptop, pockets galore, a shoe compartment, and it's comfortable to carry on harried travel days. As I was telling my colleague senior style editor Samantha Crozier about how much I love Lo & Sons' bags, she remarked how "Asian grannies know about organization." I have found this to be absolutely true with every bag Mrs. Helen Lo and her titular sons have put out, but my favorite one remains the O.G. 2 (now up to 30% off).

Back when my best friend first moved to Brooklyn, I was spending a lot of nights at her place ushering her into city life. For many Fridays, I would leave my apartment with The O.G. 2 packed to the brim and return home Sunday evening with the bag as neatly packed as I left it.

The compartments make it easy to restore order even after an unruly girls' weekend. The padded laptop sleeve has a seam sealed zipper to protect my MacBook from coffee spills, while the inner mesh pocket keeps my water bottle upright.

It has the storage capacity of a weekender bag. The key to staying organized while working and traveling is having space to fit bags within bags (and so on). The O.G. 2 has a wide base to stack bulky toiletry kits, so the important things rise to the top.

The key leash, shoe compartment, and metal feet at the bottom are a thoughtful touch. This way I don't have to fish around for my keys at the end of a long day. As with all our favorite work bags for women, the metal feet mean I can put it on the floor during my commute without it getting dirty.

It has a luggage sleeve and fits the size requirements of a personal item bag. The bag is soft-sided and its rounded shape fits under most airplane seats. The padded messenger strap also makes it easy to carry, even when I'm standing in long transit lines.

The bottom line

If I'm taking my laptop on road, the Lo & Sons O.G. 2 is my favorite work travel bag to have with me. It's pricey, but justifiable as it functions like an everyday work bag — not just one for business travelers.

The design feels more stylish than a laptop backpack, and I bring it to the office when I'm packing for both the 9 to 5 and the 5 to 9. At $113 off, its more affordable now through October 31 than it will be again on Black Friday.
