Trailborn Hotels & Resorts joins Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy as founding member
Trailborn Hotels & Resorts has joined the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, expanding its reach with boutique hotels and curated outdoor experiences near iconic U.S. destinations.
Trailborn Hotels & Resorts has been named a founding member of the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, marking a key step in the brand’s national expansion.
Known for its boutique hotels near major outdoor destinations, Trailborn blends lodging with curated outdoor experiences such as guided hikes in the Grand Canyon, fly fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and surf lessons at Wrightsville Beach. Each property reflects its location through distinctive design, dining, and programming.
Trailborn will remain independent while benefitting from Marriott Bonvoy’s global distribution network. “As an anchor brand of the Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy, Trailborn will remain proudly independent while reaching millions of travelers through Marriott’s global network,” said Mike Weiss, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Trailborn. “This strategic collaboration amplifies our mission to guide guests’ adventures with unique access to the outdoors and unforgettable experiences.”

Current portfolio and growth
Since opening its first property just over a year ago, Trailborn has expanded rapidly with five hotels:
- Trailborn Rocky Mountains & Trailborn Rocky Mountains Outpost, Colorado
- Trailborn Highlands, North Carolina
- Trailborn Surf & Sound, Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina
- Trailborn Grand Canyon, Williams, Arizona
The brand will continue its growth with two new properties in 2026:
- A 93-room cliffside hotel on California’s Mendocino Coast, restoring a historic landmark.
- A 203-room ski-in/ski-out resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, reimagining the former Snow King Resort.
As part of the launch, Trailborn locations will participate in Marriott Bonvoy’s Drop Pin Challenge, encouraging members to discover outdoor destinations for instant points rewards. Trailborn is also launching its own Adventure Giveaway, offering prize stays at its properties.
