For Filipinos, timpla represents more than just flavor. It embodies a balance between tradition and modernity, simplicity and elegance, memory and exploration. This ethos guides the evening, encouraging guests to enjoy not only exceptional food but also the stories, customs, and warmth that characterize Filipino hospitality.

On July 23, 2026, the Boracay Newcoast Convention Center will host a one-night culinary event organized by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the largest hotel operator in the Philippines. The TIMPLA: MHR Food Festival also serves as the main public event of the group’s F&B Conference, where culinary and food and beverage leaders come together to share ideas, improve their skills, and celebrate the future of Filipino hospitality.

Last year’s MHR Culinary Conference, hosted by Twin Lakes Hotel, culminated in a memorable fireside dinner inspired by Antonio Pigafetta's chronicles of early Philippine culinary traditions.

On a special evening, culinary teams from 16 Megaworld Hotels & Resorts come together to share 16 signature dishes, each inspired by the local destination, traditions, and communities. More than just a display of signature dishes, TIMPLA highlights the vibrant diversity of Filipino cuisine through regional stories, locally sourced ingredients, and modern culinary techniques.

Guests will explore 16 interactive culinary stations showcasing diverse regional cuisines. These stations feature slow-roasted prime beef, lechon, fresh seafood, Maliputo from Taal Lake, goat kabsa, artisanal cheeses, heirloom rice, local cacao, tablea, seasonal tropical fruits, native herbs, and locally sourced produce.

Familiar favorites are carefully reimagined with contemporary methods and complemented by handcrafted beverages tailored to each culinary concept, creating a dining experience that is both comforting and pleasantly surprising.

What makes TIMPLA truly unique is the chance to meet the chefs behind each dish. Throughout the evening, guests can explore the inspiration behind every creation, listen to stories grounded in family traditions and regional heritage, and see how Filipino cuisine is constantly evolving while staying true to its roots. The culinary experience is enhanced by specially selected cultural performances that highlight Filipino music, dance, and art, creating an immersive night where food, culture, and storytelling seamlessly blend.

Beyond the cuisine, TIMPLA embodies the Sampaguita, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts’ emblem of Filipino hospitality. Like the flower, which symbolizes sincerity, humility, warmth, and a heartfelt welcome, each chef offers not just a signature dish but also a part of their heritage. This invites guests to experience the generosity, authenticity, and care that characterize the Filipino table.

“Some dinners satisfy your appetite. TIMPLA hopes to nourish the way you see life,” shares Chef Panky. “We wanted to create more than a menu. We wanted to create 16 signature culinary stories that remind us how beautifully different traditions, regions, and perspectives can come together. That’s the essence of TIMPLA, and that’s also the essence of Filipino hospitality.”

For Cluster General Manager for Boracay, Sonny Alvaro, TIMPLA is a celebration of the people behind every dish.

“TIMPLA is more than a showcase of culinary talent. It is a celebration of the people, traditions, and communities that continue to inspire our kitchens every day. By bringing together 16 hotels under one shared philosophy, we hope guests leave with a deeper appreciation of Filipino hospitality while discovering Boracay Newcoast as a destination for world class culinary and MICE experiences.”

Tickets cost PHP 3,500 per person and include entry to all culinary stations, handcrafted beverage pairings, chef interactions, and curated cultural performances, making TIMPLA one of the most distinctive culinary events in the country this year.
