The Pinnacle Kigali set to open in January 2026, redefining luxury hospitality in Rwanda
Opening in January 2026, The Pinnacle Kigali will introduce a new standard of ultra-luxury hospitality to Rwanda’s capital, combining refined design, sustainability, and authentic local culture on Rebero Hills.
KIGALI, RWANDA – Rwanda’s capital is preparing to welcome a new era of boutique luxury with the official opening of The Pinnacle Kigali -part of Monarch Hospitality Group – in January 2026. Following a successful soft opening and the launch of its private Members Club earlier this year, the nine-room retreat will offer a uniquely elevated experience that blends contemporary African design, refined comfort, and sustainability.
Located in the tranquil Rebero Hills, just six miles from Kigali International Airport, The Pinnacle positions itself as a retreat within the city – an elegant stopover for travelers exploring Rwanda’s natural landscapes, particularly those heading to Volcanoes National Park for gorilla trekking. The property also aims to inspire visitors to spend more time in Kigali itself, discovering its growing culinary and art scenes, which are among the most dynamic in East Africa.
“The Pinnacle is an expression of what modern African luxury can be,” said Sheila Kyarisiima, Founder and Owner of The Pinnacle Kigali. “It’s about creating a place that feels global but grounded in Rwanda’s warmth, creativity, and grace. Every element, from design to service, is guided by that balance.”

Design, amenities, and experiences
Each of The Pinnacle’s nine individually designed rooms features bespoke furnishings, deep soaking tubs, smart lighting, and curated pan-African artworks. Despite its intimate scale, the property offers an extensive range of amenities, including:
- A rooftop bar and restaurant with city views
- A saltwater infinity pool
- A spa and wellness center with full-service treatments
- A fitness studio
- A Dolby Atmos private cinema with 21 seats
- A four-lane bowling alley, arcade lounge, and library
The hotel’s concierge team will provide airport transfers and local excursions using a fleet of fully electric vehicles, part of the property’s wider sustainability program. Additional green initiatives include solar power systems, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and on-site water purification, which eliminates single-use plastics. A kitchen garden supplies fresh produce to the restaurants, while composting and waste reduction practices further minimize environmental impact.

Dining and social spaces
The Pinnacle features four restaurants offering Afro-Asian fusion, pan-European, Mediterranean, and teppanyaki cuisine. Guests can enjoy selections from a wine cellar housing over 1,000 bottles, or unwind in the property’s Champagne and whiskey lounges designed for intimate gatherings.
The property is also home to The Pinnacle Members Club, a private social and business hub for Kigali’s entrepreneurs, creatives, and cultural leaders. Members have access to exclusive facilities, curated events, and reciprocal privileges at more than 40 international clubs through partnerships with Onda and Sonato.
Extended hospitality for travelers
For guests returning from Rwanda’s mountain regions, The Pinnacle introduces a “Departure Amenity” allowing full access to all hotel facilities on the day of departure at no extra cost. The service offers travelers a place to relax, dine, or visit the spa before their international flights, replacing the need for a day room and extending the hotel’s signature hospitality until the final moment of their stay.
With its combination of bespoke service, sustainable design, and contemporary African sophistication, The Pinnacle Kigali is poised to become one of East Africa’s most distinctive luxury properties when it opens its doors in early 2026.
