HOKKAIDO, Japan – Hilton (NYSE: HLT), a leading global hospitality company, proudly announces the opening of The Green Leaf Niseko Village, part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. This marks the brand’s debut in Japan. Situated at the base of Mount Niseko Annupuri within Niseko Village Ski Resort, the property will operate exclusively during Niseko’s renowned White Season, providing guests with prime access to some of the world’s top skiing opportunities.

The 200-room property is part of Hilton’s expanding portfolio, which includes over 180 Tapestry Collection hotels worldwide, known for their vibrant character, sophisticated design, and authentic local experiences.

In addition to Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda, renowned for its carefully curated boutique ambiance, Hilton plans to open two more Canopy hotels in Okinawa and Tokyo, along with a second Curio Collection property in Kyoto by 2028.

This positions The Green Leaf Niseko Village prominently within Hilton’s growing lifestyle brand presence in Japan.

A Winter Sanctuary at the Foot of Mount Annupuri

The Green Leaf Niseko Village serves as a peaceful retreat where nature, culture, and craftsmanship seamlessly blend. Its lodge-style atmosphere, combined with direct access to Niseko Village Ski Resort’s famous powder slopes, makes it ideal for guests eager to explore the world-class terrain.

Inside, tranquil spaces inspired by Niseko’s peaceful winter scenery provide a cozy, rejuvenating escape after a day on the slopes.

Drawing from the local environment, the hotel partners with local artists, each offering unique interpretations of the region’s natural beauty. A notable feature is the display of 200 works by renowned painter Soichiro Tomioka in the guestrooms and corridors.

Famous for his dreamy winter scenes and his special pigment, “Tomioka White,” his art reflects the quiet brilliance and richness of Japanese winter light, offering a serene and introspective experience.

Emi Shiratori, a graphic artist and creator from Sapporo, infuses the hotel’s look with a modern, expressive touch through murals at the lobby entrance and spa façade, along with hand-drawn designs on guestroom doors and ski lockers.

Her contemporary take on Niseko’s wildlife features in various guest interactions, including wall art, dining menus, personalized cards from the General Manager, and distinctive animal motifs on room keys, transforming everyday items into curated artworks.

During a previous on-site residency, guests could observe her artistic process firsthand as she crafted many of these pieces, making her creativity an engaging part of the hotel stay. The Green Leaf Niseko Village’s refreshed interiors were designed by Champalimaud Design, a renowned New York studio celebrated for storytelling spaces.

Inspired by Niseko’s mountain scenery, the design is serene, grounded, and responsive to seasonal changes. Using natural materials, sculptural shapes, and warm textures, the property embodies a balanced harmony where craftsmanship, comfort, and nature subtly converse.

Individually Vibrant and Thoughtfully-Designed Stays

The property features 200 rooms and suites with vibrant, design-centric decor accented by natural textures and artistic details. Guests have direct ski-in, ski-out access to Niseko Village Ski Resort, relax in a tranquil indoor-outdoor onsen surrounded by natural stone, enjoy lively local cuisine featuring Hokkaido’s seasonal produce, and engage deeply with art and culture, all of which embody the mountain’s true spirit.
