Tourism and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, led the
Tamil Nadu delegation bringing along the reputed tour operators, DMC’s and hoteliers from
the state to facilitate the B2B discussions with the key industry stakeholders. This year, the
Tamil Nadu Wilderness Corporation also joined as a co-exhibitor along with the Tamil Nadu
Tourism to showcase the state’s wide range of Eco-tourism and Adventure activities offered
by the Forest Department including the Trekking routes operated in the name of “Trek Tamil
Nadu”.

Tamil Nadu Tourism has been a consistent participant at WTM London, recognizing the immense potential and growing demand for inbound tourism. At the event, the state’s tourism offerings were showcased in a dedicated pavilion, which served as a central hub for fostering partnerships and collaborations. This initiative aimed to attract investments, strengthen industry connections, and highlight Tamil Nadu’s unique appeal to global travellers. Dr. K. Manivasan, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowments, emphasized the state’s commitment to exploring new opportunities in heritage tourism, eco-tourism, adventure travel, and cultural experiences.

In addition, Mr. T. Christuraj, I.A.S., Director of Tamil Nadu Tourism and Managing Director of TTDC, shared that the Tourism Department had planned an exclusive Roadshow in Paris on November 7, 2025. This event would bring together co-exhibitors and stakeholders for B2B interactions, continuing the momentum after Tamil Nadu’s participation in IFTM Top Resa in September. The Roadshow is part of a broader strategy to engage the French market and increase inbound tourism to Tamil Nadu.

The state’s tourism offerings are deeply rooted in its rich heritage, reflected not only in its iconic monuments but also in the ancient Sangam literature, which flourished between 200 BCE and 300 CE. This literary legacy categorizes Tamil Nadu into five distinct ecological landscapes—Kurinji (hilly), Mullai (forest), Marutham (agricultural), Neithal (coastal), and Palai (arid)—each with its own biodiversity and cultural significance. Visitors can explore a variety of activities, from trekking in the hilly regions to experiencing coastal life along Neithal, all while discovering the state’s unique natural beauty. The tourism proposal for 2025 outlines Tamil Nadu’s commitment to expanding its tourism network.
