The best walking shoes I own are still on sale even though Prime Day is over
My favorite walking shoes are still on sale even though Prime Day ended. Rykä's Devotion X sneakers won't stay this cheap for much longer.
Put simply, the Rykä Devotion X walking shoes are the most comfortable sneakers I own. They just went on sale for Prime Day, but there's still a chance to save. I checked and saw they're only about $4 more than they were yesterday.
The Devotion X sneakers were a huge hit last Prime Day (nearly 2,000 of our readers picked up a pair). I love them because they're breathable, stretchy enough to fit wide feet, and well-cushioned so my joints don't ache after a long day of travel.
These shoes are already affordable at an average cost of $70. For a little while longer, they're even cheaper starting around $65 a pair. For more of the top discounts left on Amazon, check out our main Prime Day deals hub.
Our fitness gear expert Rachael Schultz first put me onto the Ryka Devotion Xs. She consulted podiatrist Elizabeth Daughtry, DPM, FACFAS while researching the best walking shoes for women. Rykä's Devotion X sneakers check all Dr. Daughtry's boxes: shock-absorbing cushions, a firm midfoot for stability and arch support, and a stretchy airy knit upper so my feet can sweat and swell in comfort.
My high arches won't allow me to go 20,000 steps in just any pair of sneakers. But I don't necessarily need to splurge on fancy Brooks or Hokas to get the support I need — these Rykäs are just $65 on Amazon, though that price can vary slightly based on your preferred color and size combination.
I packed six pairs of shoes for my trip spanning Paris to Prague, but the Ryka Devotion X sneakers impressed me the most.

I've offered people (sometimes unsolicited) advice that they don't need Brooks or Hokas when shoes like these exist. More reasons to love the Rykäs:
The mesh uppers can stretch to fit wide feet. The knit upper is well elasticated, but still retains its shape after years of wear. Plus, the roomy toe box allows my toes to splay naturally (which also makes them a great pick for people with high-volume feet).
They stabilize your gait. A combination of high arches and weak ankles cause me to walk with an an uneven amount of pressure on my foot tendons. The Rykäs help balance out my step.
Unlike running or training sneakers, these are designed just for walking. Running shoes usually have a meta-rocker to propel feet forward. These feel more even so as to not disrupt my natural stride.

The cost of wearing stylish, impractical footwear is being more prone to stress fractures. The Rykäs are a great recovery shoe that have held up after two years of hard wear. The mesh upper is still well intact, and the cushioning is just as bouncy as the day I unboxed them. There are a few loose threads around the collar, but not enough to threaten the structural integrity of the shoe.
The bottom line
I've tested walking shoes that cost as much as $275, but I reach for my Rykäs time and again. The Rykä Devotion X sneakers (now $65) have held up far longer than I expected. This deal expires soon, so if you were debating whether these are worth it, now's the time to decide.
