DOHA, QATAR – Qatar Airways Group has announced the appointment of Hamad Ali Al-Khater as its new Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 7 December 2025. He succeeds Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, marking a key leadership transition for one of the world’s most influential aviation groups.
Mr. Al-Khater joins the airline from Hamad International Airport, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and played a central role in strengthening operational reliability, safety, and long-term infrastructure development. His portfolio included steering the airport’s strategic direction and enhancing key touchpoints across the passenger journey, placing operational excellence at the core of its growth.
Before entering the aviation sector, he held senior roles at QatarEnergy, where he led business development initiatives, major strategic projects, and operational transformation programmes.
