New ERA Board elected to drive the future of Europe’s regional aviation

ERA announces new Board members, including SKY express’ Vasiliki Christidi, to strengthen regional aviation’s voice and sustainable development in Europe.

The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) has announced the results of its Board elections, bringing together both new and returning members to continue guiding the association’s work on behalf of Europe’s regional aviation sector.

ERA confirmed the re-election of airline representative Vasiliki Christidi, Group General Manager at SKY express, alongside a number of newly elected airline and non-airline representatives. The appointments strengthen ERA’s mission to advocate for the regional aviation industry in Europe and address the unique challenges it faces.

The newly elected members are:

  • Mario Lobato De Faria, Managing Director, TAP express operated by Portugália Airlines
  • Dr Nadia Giordimaina, Director Regulatory & International Affairs, KM Malta
  • Anastasija Visnakova, VP Sales & Marketing, Deutsche Aircraft
  • Mark Dunnachie, SVP Commercial, ACIA Aero Leasing
  • Victoire Totah, Director Commercial Marketing, Aéroport de Nîmes/Aéroport de Tours

Together, the new and re-elected Board members will help guide ERA’s strategic priorities and ensure that the voice of Europe’s regional aviation sector is heard by policymakers and stakeholders across the continent.

Mario Lobato De Faria, Managing Director of TAP express operated by Portugália Airlines, stated:
“ERA has been in the past decades fundamental in setting a fairer and meaningful landscape for regional airlines. It’s with pride and humility that I join the Board and expect to contribute to the sustainability of regional airlines and their mission in connecting communities and developing their economies while ensuring profits.”

Dr Nadia Giordimaina, Director Regulatory & International Affairs at KM Malta, added: “I would like to thank all those who showed their support by voting. My priority will be to advocate so that legislation respects the complexity and constraints that the airline industry operates in, in view of the paramount importance of safety and security for the industry. Regulation should not come at the expense of the financial sustainability of an industry which provides connectivity and hence ensures freedom of movement of citizens, economic prosperity and growth to the regions it serves.”

Vasiliki Christidi, Group General Manager at SKY express, commented: “I am honoured to continue serving on the ERA Board and look forward to contributing to the sustainable growth of regional aviation in Europe. Together with my colleagues, I will work to strengthen connectivity, advance innovation, and support our industry’s transition towards a more resilient future for the people of Europe.”

With this new composition, the ERA Board is well-positioned to continue driving forward its mission to secure a strong, sustainable, and competitive future for regional aviation across Europe.
