Louis Starck becomes General Manager of Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, marking a new chapter for Monaco’s historic luxury landmark.

The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has announced the appointment of Louis Starck as General Manager of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, succeeding Olivier Thomas. Starck officially assumed his new role on September 29, marking the beginning of a new era for one of Monaco’s most iconic hotels.

An accomplished hotelier with over three decades of experience, Louis Starck previously led the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo since 2018, where he successfully redefined the property’s positioning and strengthened its reputation for refined service and cultural sophistication. Under his leadership, the Hermitage introduced innovative culinary concepts such as the Michelin-starred Pavyllon by Yannick Alléno and L’Abysse, which earned two Michelin stars in 2025.

At the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Starck now leads a team of nearly 500 employees and oversees one of the most celebrated properties in European hospitality. “This is a moment of great pride, and at the same time, I fully realise the responsibility and expectations that come with this position,” he said upon taking office. His mission is to continue “growing the heritage” of the palace, ensuring that its legacy of excellence evolves in step with the expectations of today’s luxury travellers.

The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, a flagship of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer portfolio, stands as a symbol of luxury hospitality on the Place du Casino. Recognised with 5 stars, Palace status, 3 Michelin Keys, and 5 stars in the Forbes Travel Guide, the property continues to refine its offerings with a distinguished culinary line-up featuring Louis XV–Alain Ducasse**, Le Grill, Em Sherif, and Bar Américain.

Starck’s international career began after graduating from the Strasbourg Hotel School and earning an Executive MBA from Henley Management College. He has held leadership roles with InterContinental, Warwick Hotels & Resorts, and Fairmont Monte-Carlo, where he gained deep experience across Europe and the Middle East before joining Monte-Carlo SBM.

Albert Manzone, CEO of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, praised Starck’s appointment, saying: “His hospitality experience, understanding of the Monegasque market, and commitment to excellence are invaluable assets in continuing to make the legendary Hôtel de Paris shine on the global luxury stage.”

Starck’s appointment reaffirms Monte-Carlo SBM’s strategy of cultivating leadership talent from within and underscores its ongoing commitment to maintaining Monaco’s position as a premier destination in the world of luxury hospitality.
