The City Glows and The Jungle Roars: Christmas Begins at Westside City

Parañaque City, Philippines — On November 19, 2025, Kingsford Hotel Manila officially welcomed the holiday season with its “Jungle Glow: Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.” This event launched the hotel’s Jingle in the Jungle festivities, filling Westside City with festive spirit.

The annual theme celebrates Harri, the hotel’s beloved lion mascot and “King of the Jungle.” The Christmas tree is adorned with lush, jungle-inspired elements, vibrant emerald greens, gold accents, details in the 2026 color of the year, and sampaguita flowers, representing Megaworld Hotels and Resorts’ dedication to exceptional service.

Jorold Montelibano, Kingsford Hotel General Manager, shared, “Tonight’s Jungle Glow Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is more than a tradition; it is our way of opening the season with gratitude, joy, and connection. This year, as we jingle in the jungle, we celebrate not just the season but Harri, the King of the Jungle, whose spirit reminds us to lead with kindness, share joy generously, and keep the magic of Christmas alive in every heart.”

Guests enjoyed special performances from the Parañaque National High School Glee Club. Their harmonious voices filled the venue with joyful melodies, filling the evening with youthful energy, festive charm, and the true spirit of Christmas.

Meet the Giant Harri

A highlight of this year’s celebration is the unveiling of Giant Harri, a six-foot-tall installation modeled after the original plushie revealed at the hotel’s launch.

His name, Harri, is derived from the Tagalog word for “king,” reflecting leadership, strength, and compassion. Just like the Kingsford team he symbolizes, Harri is protective, caring, and demonstrates service from the heart to ensure every guest feels valued.

Now sporting festive Santa attire, Giant Harri will be a permanent fixture in the Kingsford Hotel Manila lobby, with themed outfits that will change throughout the year to celebrate each season.

Letters to Harri: A Season of Giving

Kingsford Hotel Manila, embracing the true spirit of Christmas, launched “Letters to Harri,” a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in collaboration with its adopted community, St. Rita Orphanage in Parañaque City.

Drawing inspiration from the beloved Letters to Santa tradition, hotel representatives visited the orphanage to collect the children’s heartfelt wishes, each written in a letter addressed to Harri. The team didn’t just focus on fulfilling these wishes—they also explored ways the hotel could provide ongoing support to the orphanage throughout the year.

Just days before Christmas, Kingsford Hotel employees will return to the orphanage to personally deliver the gifts and host a joyful Christmas party for the children, bringing hope and magic to the holiday season.
