Hāna-Maui Resort appoints Alexander DeChagas as General Manager

Hāna-Maui Resort has appointed Alexander DeChagas as General Manager, overseeing operations across accommodations and facilities as the property continues its day-to-day management and community engagement.

 

HĀNA, HAWAII – Hāna-Maui Resort, A Destination by Hyatt, announced the appointment of Alexander DeChagas as General Manager. In his role, Alexander DeChagas is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the resort, including guest rooms, suites, bungalows, and family residences. His responsibilities include overseeing in-house teams and implementing operational and marketing strategies.

Alexander DeChagas brings nearly two decades of experience within Hyatt to the position. His previous roles include director of rooms at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, director of operations at Hyatt Centric Times Square New York, and director of rooms at The Bellevue Hotel – The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

Most recently, he served as General Manager of Hotel Kansas City – The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, where he was responsible for implementing brand initiatives, strengthening market presence, and improving financial performance while maintaining guest service standards.

His professional background reflects long-term involvement with Hyatt brand standards across multiple stages of the guest experience. Alexander DeChagas holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Hāna-Maui Resort operates as a destination resort located in the town of Hāna along the Road to Hāna, a 64-mile coastal route on Maui’s northern shoreline.

The property features 66 guest rooms, suites, bungalows, and family residences, alongside amenities that include the Hāna Ranch Restaurant, an ocean-view spa, and curated cultural experiences.

The resort also offers private air transfers via an on-site Cessna aircraft from Kahului Airport, with a flight time of approximately 14 minutes, as well as on-site Jeep rentals available to guests.
