MANILA, Philippines — At the Golden Grab Awards 2025, Grab Philippines honored the country’s top-performing restaurants and retailers in a landmark celebration that highlights the most innovative, customer-beloved, and consistently high-performing merchants. These awardees have set the “Gold Standard” in the Philippines’ rapidly evolving and increasingly integrated online-to-offline economy.

Golden Grab Merchants of the Year: Juliet Chen (Serenitea), Gerby Estrella (JT’s Manukan Grille), and Ryan Tan (Oh Mango), with Grab Philippines leaders led by Managing Director Ronald Roda.
Top honors for the night went to homegrown milk tea giant Serenitea, which was named GrabFood Merchant of the Year for National Brands. Joining it were JT’s Manukan Grille, which received the title for Nationwide Chains, and Oh Mango, which took home the award for Citywide Merchants in Metro Manila.

The awards ceremony—attended by hundreds of Grab merchant-partners from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—served as a showcase of how far the platform has come. Once known mainly as an on-demand delivery service, Grab has since developed into a comprehensive ecosystem that supports merchants throughout the entire customer journey. Through in-app storefronts, targeted promotions, integrated payment solutions, and reliable delivery and logistics, the superapp now helps partners strengthen both their online presence and their physical branches.
This shared trajectory of growth between Grab and its merchant-partners was a key theme underscored by EJ dela Vega, Grab Philippines Head of Deliveries and Chief Commercial Officer. In his remarks, he explained how Grab leverages its technology, data, and marketing capabilities to help merchants reach new customers, optimize operations, and adapt to changing consumer behavior. He stressed that Grab positions itself not just as a service provider but as a strategic, hands-on ally—one that stands alongside merchant-partners as they compete for market share and work toward sustainable, long-term business growth.
“We know that trust is earned day by day, order by order. And the only way we can repay that trust is by remaining steadfast in our commitment to be the unwavering force behind the growth ambition of our merchant-partners,” Dela Vega shared during the Golden Grab Awards night. “Our pledge is simple: to be the partner that ensures when you dream big, you have the tools and the commercial business to achieve it”

A defining standard of excellence
The ceremony underscored the importance of consistency and quality across all categories.
In the GrabFood Quality category, Caramia Cakes & Gelato was named Best Rated National Brand, while 24 Chicken received the Most Reliable National Brand award for its strong operational efficiency. For GrabMart, Ever Supermarket, and Cion’s Meat Shop were recognized as the Most Reliable merchants, cited for consistent product availability and an exceptional customer experience.
The program also highlighted the “5-Star Eats” winners—top-performing city and community merchants with the highest customer ratings. This roster featured local favorites such as Mylene’s Ensaymada and Banana Cake, Paya Street Coffee, Quarantea, and CBS Kitchen.
Retail growth leaders were honored as GrabMart “Category Captains,” with Pet Express (Pets), Watsons (Pharmacies), and Robinsons Supermarket (Supermarkets) distinguished as top sales performers setting the bar for excellence.
Marketing innovation was another key focus. Southstar Drug and Davao Central Convenience Store were named Adoption Leaders for fully leveraging Grab Marketing Solutions. McDonald’s earned the Data-Driven Impact Trailblazer award for its precision-led campaigns, while Chowking received the Loyalty Innovation Trailblazer distinction.
Setting the Gold Standard forward
The event also highlighted the industry’s move toward “hybrid” dining. JT’s Manukan Grille, Zhenbao Hotpot, and Feta Mediterranean were honored as Best Dine-Out Merchants for their effective use of deals to drive foot traffic.
According to Greg Camacho, Director for Off-Platform Solutions, the future of dining lies in delivering a gold-standard customer experience across both digital platforms and physical stores.
