G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions launch new Signature itineraries

National Geographic Signature itineraries launch globally through a new collaboration between G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions, introducing high-end, expert-led travel experiences across 28 destinations.

G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions announced the official launch of National Geographic Signature with G Adventures, a new collection of high-end travel itineraries designed around expert education, immersive access, and community-focused experiences.

The new collection is now on sale and includes 32 trips across 28 destinations, with itineraries ranging from seven to 19 days. Destinations span Southern Africa, Peru, Japan, Costa Rica, Central Asia, Morocco, Vietnam, and Palau, which is a new destination for G Adventures.

The Signature collection brings together National Geographic’s long-standing focus on exploration, science, storytelling, and education with G Adventures’ experience in community tourism. The itineraries are designed to provide access to expert knowledge, rarely seen locations, and immersive cultural engagement, while ensuring tangible benefits for local communities.

Each itinerary includes dedicated Signature Moments intended to reflect National Geographic’s approach to discovery. In Cambodia, travellers visit the restricted Conservation d’Angkor centre to meet specialists restoring and repatriating stolen antiquities. In Morocco, guests explore Fez’s ninth-century market with chef Najat Kaanache and tour Marrakech’s medina with an expert storyteller recognised for reviving the traditional Moroccan art of Hikayat storytelling.

Beyond these moments, the itineraries feature special or private access to locations associated with experiential luxury. These include private dining overlooking Lake Maggiore on Isola Bella Island, early access to canopy walkways in Costa Rica, sunset entry to Amman’s Citadel and archaeological ruins, and a private dinner at Churchill’s Cabinet War Rooms.

A defining feature of the collection is the involvement of National Geographic Expedition Leaders and Expedition Experts. Expedition Leaders guide each departure, while Expedition Experts include specialists such as photographers, biologists, geologists, historians, filmmakers, archaeologists, and conservationists. Many experts are local to the destination, offering insight from those directly involved in research and preservation.

Each Signature trip contributes to the work of the nonprofit National Geographic Society, supporting initiatives in exploration, research, and education. Community-based experiences are integrated throughout the itineraries. In Peru, travellers visit the Caccaccollo Women’s Weaving Cooperative with Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez to learn about the preservation of Indigenous Quechuan weaving traditions. In Egypt, guests participate in preparing traditional bread at Nawaya, a project supporting women in the agricultural sector.

Accommodation across the collection is positioned at a five-star or best-in-region level, selected to reflect local character and a strong sense of place. Lodging options include safari camps, eco-lodges, vineyards, mountain retreats, historic riads, beachside boutique hotels, and properties overlooking UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Highlighted itineraries include Signature: Peru from Machu Picchu to the Amazon Jungle, a 12-day journey combining archaeological exploration, expert lectures, and citizen science activities in the Amazon. Signature: Palau’s Rock Islands & Underwater Serengeti introduces travellers to marine conservation, kayaking, snorkeling, and wildlife projects across the Pacific archipelago. Signature: China’s Great Wall, Xi’an & the Gobi Desert offers a 10-day itinerary featuring conservation-led access to the Great Wall, restricted-entry Mogao Grottoes, the Terracotta Warriors, and conservation initiatives focused on giant pandas.
