Berlin Convention Office launches new website for meetings and events

The Berlin Convention Office of visitBerlin has launched a new website featuring the redesigned Berlin Convention Finder and AI-powered search tools for international event planners.

BERLIN – The Berlin Convention Office of visitBerlin has launched its new website at convention.visitBerlin.de, marking a digital relaunch aimed at strengthening Berlin’s visibility as a destination for conferences and events. The platform is designed for international event planners as well as suppliers active in the city’s MICE sector.

At the core of the relaunch is the redesigned Berlin Convention Finder, formerly known as the Berlin Meeting Guide. The updated tool integrates enhanced filters and AI-powered search functionality, intended to simplify research and make enquiry processes more efficient.

“With the new website, we’re giving event planners a tool that acts like a compass through the variety of Berlin’s MICE offering. The revised Berlin Convention Finder with integrated AI search filters options in seconds, turning what is often a complex search into an intuitive process. For planners, that means less time searching and more time for creative planning,” said Marco Oelschlegel, Director Conventions at the Berlin Convention Office.

The new website features updated visual design aligned with visitBerlin’s corporate identity and simplified navigation. Editorial sections include the Berlin Meetings Blog, news updates, and a calendar of congresses and trade fairs. Media resources such as images and videos are also available to support event planners and media professionals.

The updated Berlin Convention Finder lists approximately 430 suppliers and covers the full range of the city’s MICE ecosystem, including conference hotels, event venues, technical and catering providers, mobility services, and incentive specialists. Development of the platform involved workshops with local stakeholders to reflect user needs.

The tool allows searches based on criteria such as venue type, sustainability certifications, accessibility features, capacity, and technical infrastructure. Users are provided with verified information, comparable listings, and structured enquiry processes with direct contact options.

“The new Berlin Convention Finder is an innovative milestone. It makes the diversity and quality of Berlin’s offering both visible and easily accessible. It delivers real added value for organisers planning events in or with Berlin. The city’s variety and capability as a MICE metropolis becomes more visible, strengthening both the destination and the industry,” said Matthias Leonhardt, Managing Director of Berlin Event Network e.V.

The new platform delivers transparency and orientation, and significantly simplifies the search for suitable venues. As visitBerlin Partnerhotels e.V., we are actively involved in the Berlin Event Board to continue positioning Berlin as a top destination for meetings, congresses and major events. Digital platforms such as the Berlin Convention Finder play a crucial role in making the diversity and quality of the destination visible and internationally accessible,” said Stefan Athmann, Chairman of the Board of visitBerlin Partnerhotels e.V.

A new AI-powered search feature enables planners to enter requirements in natural language, such as capacity, sustainability criteria, and catering needs. The system returns relevant matches from within Berlin, aiming to reduce planning time.

The platform also introduces a new participation model for suppliers, including a free basic profile and two paid subscription options offering enhanced visibility and presentation features.

The concept and technical implementation of the new website were delivered by XIMA, a digital agency based in Dresden specialising in public-sector digital solutions. According to visitBerlin, the relaunch supports the long-term positioning of Berlin as a competitive international meeting destination.
