Punjab and Maharashtra follow closely with 33,412 and 29,079 students, respectively. In recent years, the financial burden of studying abroad has led to a significant rise in outward remittances. Between 2014 and 2024, remittances for education surged from Rs 975 crore to an astonishing Rs 29,000 crore.
