Akasa Air Unveils Ambitious Expansion Plans with New Domestic and International Routes, Plus Increased Frequencies Starting October 27, 2025

Akasa Air is taking a major leap forward in its growth journey by announcing a wide-ranging expansion that strengthens both its domestic and international footprint. Beginning October 27, 2025, the airline will introduce several new routes and significantly increase flight frequencies, reflecting its strong operational momentum and growing passenger demand. This ambitious move demonstrates Akasa Air’s commitment to offering greater connectivity, supporting India’s aviation growth, and enhancing travel options for flyers across key destinations.

Akasa Air, the rapidly expanding airline in India, has revealed a major operational growth plan, including new routes and boosted frequencies across both its domestic and international services, set to take effect from the winter schedule on October 27, 2025.

With a 12% year-on-year growth in total departures and a 22% increase in Available Seat Kilometres (ASKm), Akasa Air continues its impressive and sustainable growth, further solidifying its promise to enhance air travel by making it more affordable and accessible to an ever-growing number of passengers.

Akasa Air Expands Operations with New Base in Delhi

Akasa Air has officially designated Delhi as its third operational base, following Bengaluru and Mumbai. This strategic move will see the airline increase its departures from the capital by approximately 56% compared to Winter 2024. With over 165 weekly departures from Delhi, the airline will now connect the city to 12 destinations, up from the previous nine.

The airline will launch non-stop flights from Delhi to three new cities: Kolkata, Bagdogra, and Srinagar. Additionally, the frequency of flights to key destinations such as Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru will be increased to 4x daily, 2x daily, and 5x daily, respectively. This expansion positions Delhi as a hub, linking the city to four of India’s five metro cities—Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Hyderabad—along with eight non-metro destinations, offering travelers enhanced convenience and connectivity.

Boosting Domestic Connectivity

Akasa Air has also focused on strengthening its domestic network. Recently, it launched services to Kozhikode and Darbhanga, further connecting the southern and eastern parts of India. The airline’s presence in Kolkata will grow with 62 weekly departures, up from 52, including 2x daily flights between Kolkata and Delhi, with seamless connections to Goa and Srinagar.

Expanding International Network

Akasa continues to extend its international reach, with recent launches of daily direct flights connecting Phuket to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The airline will further expand its Middle East operations, increasing departures from Abu Dhabi by 14%, and introducing non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Cochin, as well as Chennai. This will improve connectivity to India’s southern region and strengthen Akasa’s partnership with Etihad Airways. Departures from Jeddah will also rise to 26 weekly flights, marking a 270% increase from Winter 2024, with services to Riyadh increasing to five times a week.

These efforts contribute to Akasa Air’s global expansion, reinforcing its commitment to offering affordable and reliable travel options, while strengthening connections between India and the world.
