Royal Caribbean International is reinforcing its presence in Latin America with the Serenade of the Seas kicking off the 2025-26 cruise season. After a brief pause in the region, the cruise line is returning with a robust schedule of Southern Caribbean itineraries, designed to offer travelers an engaging mix of exploration, relaxation, and culturally tailored onboard experiences.

The 2003-built Radiance-class Serenade of the Seas will sail from Colón in Panamá and Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, delivering seven-night voyages to some of the Caribbean’s most sought-after destinations: Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. These itineraries are crafted to appeal to Latin American guests, featuring onboard entertainment, activities, and services presented in local languages, along with events that highlight regional culture and traditions.

The ship reached its new homeports in early October following a repositioning voyage from the U.S. West Coast. This included a short three-night cruise from PortMiami, which passed through the Panama Canal and offered two full days of Caribbean sailing before arriving in Colón and Cartagena. The repositioning marked the start of a season designed to combine the serenity of tropical islands with immersive onboard experiences.

This deployment represents Royal Caribbean’s full return to Latin America following a one-year hiatus from the region. During the 2023-24 season, the Rhapsody of the Seas maintained the cruise line’s presence with sailings from Colombia and Panamá. However, the introduction of the Serenade of the Seas for the 2025-26 season reflects a broader commitment to enhancing offerings and delivering more tailored experiences for regional travelers.

Looking ahead, Royal Caribbean has a strategic fleet plan for the region. While Serenade of the Seas will reposition to Alaska for the summer months, the Vision-class Grandeur of the Seas will continue Latin American operations starting May 2026. This ship will assume itineraries initially planned for the Jewel of the Seas, continuing seven-night cruises to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, ensuring uninterrupted service and consistent experiences for travelers.

Grandeur of the Seas is expected to establish a year-round presence in Latin America, with cruises from both Colombia and Panamá scheduled through at least April 2027. Onboard, guests can enjoy culturally adapted entertainment, regionally inspired dining options, and activities designed to reflect local traditions and interests, creating an enriched cruising experience tailored to the market.

The Southern Caribbean destinations featured on these itineraries offer a compelling mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Aruba boasts pristine beaches and vibrant coastal towns, Bonaire is renowned for its diving and marine life, and Curaçao provides a unique combination of colonial architecture and lively local culture. Together, these islands offer travelers a diverse array of leisure, adventure, and cultural exploration opportunities.

Through the deployment of these ships, Royal Caribbean is strengthening its role in Latin America’s cruise market. The strategy combines well-known Caribbean destinations with tailored onboard experiences, catering to regional preferences while maintaining the company’s reputation for premium cruising.

The 2025-26 season promises an elevated experience for both first-time and repeat cruisers. The Serenade of the Seas and Grandeur of the Seas together create a continuous stream of travel opportunities, ensuring year-round access to Southern Caribbean voyages. By focusing on culturally relevant programming and scenic itineraries, Royal Caribbean is positioned to meet growing demand in the region and deliver memorable travel experiences.

As the season unfolds, travelers can anticipate a vibrant mix of adventure, relaxation, and immersive experiences. By combining stunning Caribbean destinations with thoughtful onboard offerings, Royal Caribbean is not only returning to Latin America but also redefining the cruising experience in the region, setting a new standard for unforgettable vacations in the Southern Caribbean.
